The design company Seymourpowell has announced plans for the next thing in hotel design. The "Floating Hotel". The designs show a 265 meter high, luxury airship, which would be able to travel between London and in just over a day.
The airship which would contain a penthouse, four double rooms and five single rooms would be able to cruise at 3,500 at a speed of up to 150 kmph. Also included in the design is a bar, lounge and two large comunal areas for the guests to mingle.
The hotel would be staffed by 20 attendants on shift rotation, and seems to be the very idea of modern luxury.
However, Samsung Construction & Trading who funded the design, it would seem have no concrete plans to build the super hotel in the near future, but the design has surely given some inspiration, and dare I say it impetus, to potential future hotel designers.
