Liverpool was famous for its music venues, such as The Cavern, where hundreds of teenagers would cram into such a tiny space just to see their idols.
Nobody is really sure why it all happened in that one place, but the confluence of influences, as often happens in a thriving port, must be one of the main factors, with Irish, English and Commonwealth citizens all sharing their influences.
But it didn't stop in the sixties, just because the individual bands eventually gave up the ghost, the music lives on. Today you can visit all the locations which made Liverpool famous, you can eithert go on a scheduled tour, or just stay in a Hotel in Liverpool, and stroll around on your own time, visit your favourites more than once, do what you like.
